Right first just a lil background summary....skip if you want
now to the problem
right well i have a HDD which is PATA and only have 1 Available SATA port free on the motherboard...i have 3 IDE ports but each of them are either being used or are too short to reach the only place i have enough room to fit the HDD....i know you can get PATA to SATA adapters and vice versa but which one to get i'm not sure...so what you people think...

had an external HDD 400GB...power cable/power system broke....manufacturer went bust can't find replacement adapter...so i took the external Case /power supply off and now i'm left with just the HDD.....right well it turns out it's a lot better drive than i have in my computer at the moment....so i'm gonna put it in my computer...i have a slight poblem which i need to fix...now to the problem
