Thank you Bob, the straightforward answer I was looking for, hope the new hdd solves your problem, laptop gear is disproportionately expensive, two years ago, a repair centre accidently wiped mine, it cost them £340 for a new one, that company now only repairs desktops, I have one now, but guess what?, they will not be touching it!
