HDD just saw a shrink .

I turned my pc off around about 5 mins ago and deciced i need to turn it back on . did so and my harddrive has shrunk from a 200gb to a 40gb whats going on its shows up as 40gb were as around 10 mins ago it was a 200gb .

HELP ME

well if it did say 200gb, when you fill 40gb it will not say; you filled up the harddrive. Computers sometimes gets confused dont worry you still have a 200gb HD.
Anyways try defrag and see what you have there, and see if you have 2 partions.

160 GB isnt THAT much....just delete some games/DVD's

To save alot of space just back-up stuff like your movies/music on dvd's....

i have just about evrything i ever downloaded backed up on data disks.

music is a backup must....
if you have a shit load of music on yer hhd, and a virus crashes it....bye bye music & movies

i have every movie/music file/and software program i ever use backed up on cd's & dvd's.
