Hey Everyone,

First off just wondering inf the 730a supports 9950 phenom BE 140w CPU properly. Ive been using the cpu/mobo combo for about 2 months now with quite a few problems :S

Also am having some ram related issues on how much the computer is seeing out of what i physically have installed.

I'm running Vista 64-bit with 4 GBs (2 x 2GB) of ram in the first 2 slots (the 2 blue ones) closest to the CPU. My dxdiag is only showing 2942 MBs of ram though. CPU-Z is telling me i have 4096 installed in the memory tab and it telling me the correct timings. Everything in bios is @ default right now.

The computer runs decently when just listening to music IMimg and surfing the web but when i run a game (Counter strike, World of Warcraft, Left 4 Dead, Diablo 2, Spore) i get a random lock up it could happen 10 minutes into play or 3 hours into play, ive tried playing with nothing else on the in background with minimum graphical setting or with all my stuff running (IMs Itunes Mozzila ect.) with medium-high settings. im not getting any frame rate issues with the game so i dont think its a graphics card being to weak problem because the game runs fine when it works.

When the freeze happens first the games video with just stop on a frame (freeze) the sound of my computer will just loop the last .2s making it sound like a machine gun this is game music/itunes or what ever im listening to. then i have to hold down my power button to shut down then boot back up. I was mointoring CPU usage while playing WoW with core temp application and it said core 0 was running at 90-100% load and core 1 2 3 were all sitting @ 0% load and my core temp was 48C and my GPU temp @ 58C are these temps to hot? why is all my load only going to 1 core? why isnt it spread out? when ever it would reach 100% it would hickup and freeze for a few secs then go down to 96% then eventually my PC would just lock up like i said above.

Ive had this set up for about 2 months and its been happening since ive built it.

Next is the BIOS i downloaded the .iso for the new BIOS x13 or w.e loaded it to a CD with alcohol 120% like the Evga site said to do then left it in shut down booted back up and it loaded it and it brought up a screen saying it was flashing it then when it finished said remove the disc and press f1 to resart so i did and i still have the same BIOS says dxdiag.
so i restarted and booted up into bios to check and ya it all still looks the same and is @ the same defualt settings so did it not update?

Theres some dxdiag info for you all. If you need anymore information just let me know.
Are any of my drivers out of date? do i need to flash bios again? How do i fix my RAM problem?

Ive tried wiping my HDD and installed xp 32 bit vista 32 bit ulimate premium and basic all of which had the same problems with gaming.

System consists of..
PSU: OCZ GameXStream 700w
Mobo: eVGA nForce 730a
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9950 BE 2.6 Ghz
HDD: Samsung 1TB
RAM: Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800 Mhz
GPU: 8200 onbaord
OS: Vista ultimate 64-bit

if you got onboard Ethernet disable it and try a pci Ethernet card -- dont ask me why but I use a trading computer and had same problems for over a year with windows XP and that was the problem and with a game you can live with it--with trading you cant if your computer dies at random
