Great deal, no time

School's coming up and this will be my Junior year. I'm taking a community service class that could require a car. Unfortunately, my dad is not willing to spend so much money with me, and you know how hard it is to find good cars for low prices. He's willing to spend around 6K, but he wants it with very very low mileage. A friend of my mom's is maybe moving back to Brazil in November. She doesn't know yet, depends on what happens with her greencard stuff. If her process gets approved she wants a new car, if she moves, she has to sell her car, but there's always that chance of her staying and keeping her car. She owns a white Mitsubishi Lancer, automatic transmission, 04 (I think), 40k miles, and she's willing to let it go for 6K at the end of the year. This is one of the best deals I've seen, but I don't know if I'll be able to hold out without a car for that long. I could trying switching out classes and stuff but I doubt there's anything that could fill up my schedule with the way it's set up. We're still looking around for cars, but I'm not quite sure if we can find such a good deal. What do you guys think?

You can, just keep looking, autotrader.com, and cars.com is where I looked every day for months for my car and eventually found a nice one that I liked.

My mom liked this car, I just started browsing around, what you guys think? I think it could be seen as a chick car, I don't really want one seen that way but...

Well, he's willing to pay 6K, he just doesn't want to pay more.

@Lowndsey: What you think I should do? lol.

that is a sexy car. you'll get a ton of action with it. :D

Are you for real? My dad is out of town for 4 more days. So maybe I could get the seller to hold on to it? Idk, I kinda like it.

yea. I'd drive that. Contact the seller and ask for an inspection. make sure you get the VIN so you can get a carfax report on it just to be safe.
Great price + great miles + sexy car = good deal.

Yeah. I called, nobody picked up.

25 records a lot?

edit: RubberChicken, I just now saw that you posted 2 cars up there lol

25 records as in on carfax? depends on what they are. you wanna be weary of any crash, esp if airbags are deployed, and anything else that might cause permanent damage to the car.

edit- the other has 23. I'd look at both of them, and see which car is in better condition.

also, here is one with 12 record... if you don't mind looking like a retard driving it: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...transmission=&doors=&max_price=6000&cardist=4

14: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...ransmission=&doors=&max_price=6000&cardist=10

13: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...transmission=&doors=&max_price=6000&cardist=4

3: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...transmission=&doors=&max_price=6000&cardist=4

11: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...transmission=&doors=&max_price=6000&cardist=6

I'd go with the pickup that has 3. good mileage (for a pickup.... they can easily go to 150,000) and good record.
