Graphics Cards

Hey there,

I need a bit of help, any advice would be very grateful.
I'm buying a new graphics card to go with my new handbuilt computer!

I only want to spend about £150 to £180 on the graphics card, and i'm not sure what to go with.

The obvious choice at £160 is the NVidia GeForce 6600 LE, but upgrading to GT is alot more. Is there significant performance with the GT's compared to the LE's

Also, every magazine i see, the ATI cards don't do aswell with performance tests compared with the NVidia cards. Is it safe to say that ATI cards are'nt as good as NVidia cards??

Any help would be much appreciated??

Some like ati more, myself I prefer nVidia. And u talking about the 6800 card? Coz u can easily get the 6600GT with £150.

Yeh, sorry the 6800 LE card is £160.

What do you suggest? go with 6800LE, or 6600GT.??

I want a 256MB card tho!

I don't think they make 256mb 6600GTs. Don't know about LEs.

Well, it's not really memory... it's just pci ex. slots... you have to have an sli mobo.... two is better because of more pixels, better graphics, two gpu's instead of just one, etc. An 80% increase infact, over a one card solution that is...

Can i ask somthing else too?? I'm a bit of a noob but im getting a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinium motherboard, it says it has a 7.1 audio capability with it, will a 5.1 sound card work with it?

I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to stuff in this detail!!
