Customer Care Mobility Support Portal (Laptop/Notebook)
I have a T30 IBM laptop with ATI Radeon Mobility 7500.
I accidentally uninstalled the graphics driver. Then I used the Windows driver finder to update the "VGA Display Adapter" (which i presumed was the ATI graphics card)to ATI Radeon 7500 (theres a list with shitloads of graphics cards and their respective drivers). After that I ran a PC game called Freelancer and the screen went black, with a red ( 3/4 inch width ) line that ran from left to right, 3 inches above the bottom of the screen. I turned it off. Then when I turned the computer on again, the IBM bios and startup screen show. Next comes the Windows loading screen, after that, I presume the corrupted ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 driver has been loaded and so the same result happens with the red line.
Please help me, should I install a new OS? is the hardware of my graphics card totally screwed up? should i put in a totally new motherboard?
