I got a Dell XPS 8300 with 8gb ram i7-2600 and a nvidea gt530 (Nothing Special) GPU.
When i play microsoft flight on high the temp of the gpu goes to around 150f to 160f and when it gets high i start to notice faint black lines running across the screen. Should i upgrade my gpu or try cooling better or get a new moniter. The moniter a 21.5 samsung flat screen, I use VGA. Should i get a hdmi moniter.
Thanks

the black lines is called "heat spikes"
it happens when the GPU gets to hot. so you need to figure out a way to add more cooling. add an extra fan or/and clean fans and computers air outtake and intake.

off topic: check if your monitor got DVI. DVI has the same quality as HDMI. they are both digital signal instead of analog signal as the VGA delivers.

If you've undone the heatsink from the card once to clean it, make sure you put thermal paste and second, a good airflow helps a lot.
