Another strange thing, if I ping www.gmail.com and paste THAT IP into my browser, it gets the google homepage... but I can't search from there, it just times out.
Here is my hosts file (I had some other things I put in there a long time ago that were meaningless, i removed them and the problem is still occurring)
EDIT:
It seems that Gmail and Images are on a different server than other parts. I can access Google Docs (docs.google.com) and ping it, but if I use the IP it times out (I think it's the same IP as the main Google homepage)
I was thinking that Google's main server could somehow be rejecting my internal IP address, but that can't be seen unless my router forwards ports to it right?

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.

# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.

# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
