Google Pixel 4A 4G phone question

My mom has a Google Pixel 4A 4G phone she bought about 4 years ago.

Recently it started not lasting nearly as long on a charge.

Thinking it was the battery I replaced it and also had to order a screen as Google in their infinite wisdom figured it was best to make it to where the back cannot come off without removing the screen and unscrewing it from the front.

Still lasting about the same on a charge.

Is there some sort of battery calibration procedure to eb done or is there a known problem with these phones that can be fixed?

I would imagine that there is some sort of battery management circuitry inside the phone but I don't know that for sure and even so I wouldn't have thought that to be resonsible if it exists. Have you checked the charger?

How long it will actually last and under what conditions the phone is used is unknown. Since this phone has a small (actually very small) battery capacity, it is very important how you have set it up and how you use it. The only things you can change are the processes running in the background and all sorts of notifications. Also location fixes and determinations. If they are enabled, this battery really does not last even a few hours. And there is nothing you can do to extend it except turn off everything possible... Forget all the propaganda that phone sellers do. It is all more than false. They are just salesmen and they know nothing about the work and capacity of batteries.
And of course, if the battery is 2-3 years old (the time from the date the battery was released from the factory), then the capacity is at least one third (or even more, depending on the conditions of use) less than the original capacity when it came out from the factory.
That's what I think and know. I'm one an old physicist-electronics guy, retired for now.

The phone does say to replace the battery even though I just did. That's why I was wondering if there was some sort of battery calibration procedure like some older laptops had.

Certainly a good idea to look into the battery attributes and possible "Calibration issues". Though I have never had to do it you can check on pixel forums or try calling their tech support if a standard internet search does not reveal anything.
