Ghosting question

If I wanted to ghost one drive to another, what's the difference between using Ghost or simply copy/pasting the drive to the backup drive?

Using Norton Ghost makes a hard disk image that is usually a single file. When you copy the entire hard disk you screw up the architecture of the next drive. Sometimes erroneous data is not duplicated properly.

If you are using XP copying the drive will not copy the registry. You must clone the drive using ghost, casperxp, or ranish.com. Just copying a partition in ghost will not give youa bootable hdd. You must clone the drive.

If you don't have Ghost, make it with Western Digital's Data Lifeguard, it won't cost you, only download from WD's website...
