Get ubuntu at bestbuy 20 bucks!!

Just to clear this up.

Yes, Open source is free, the Linux Kernel is free (as in beer) it's open source GPL licence. it's free....

however...

you can sell it,
but the only money you can make off of that sale is time/effort/cost of materials.

$20 for a boxed copy of ubuntu, that's a CD, a box, self space etc... it's good value.

also you'll notice that for years, various companies have sold the free kernal,

a copy of redhat enterprise AS will set you back perhaps $5,000 or more dollars.

generally,you pay for support.

the person who payed that $170 USD for the geek squad option, (i.e with support), didn't actually get a bad deal, assuming he didn't know how to install it himself.

seriously who can't download a large cd image these days, I downloaded ubuntu back when i was on 28k dialup and it only took one day and over night
