A firewall wouldn't work, because you are already downloading the infected file... from what I understand, it attaches itself to whatever you are downloading (which your firewall wouldn't catch).

These people that cry over copyrights shouldn't. If they would offer us stuff at a reasonable price, this wouldn't be happening. MS Office at $500?! I can get OpenOffice for free and it's stable and has more features than MS Office. No software is worth more than $150.

Just use linux.

If anything they will probably create an .exe or .bat (batch) file attach the file to the actual mp3 itself. So if linux tries to run this file it probably will just not play.

If only i knew how to operate linux, and didn't have to do anything else, like migrate hardware over, i'd try double booting with linux.
