Get my desktop icons to show in xp?

Hi!
Just installed xp and i havent got any icons like My computer on my desktop. This has happend before but i didnt fix it a friend did and i dont now how. Of course i could just make shourtcuts but it would be great if i could get the real ones back. Pelase help me.

Go to start, then find My Computer and right click then click "show on desktop".
