GeForce 7800GS VS 6600

ooh alright so which one is better? 7300GS or 6600???? please let me know, and how it would work on far cry, bf2, ts2, hl2, cs:s, and doom 3, and quake 4. those are my favorite games and just want to know how they would work with that card, along with a 3200 and 1 gb of ram...thanks

yea 6600 the 7300 GS is a low profile card dude go for the 6800 GS already told you :D

yeah, you did tell me. but its a little pricey. i can save up, but don't want to wait too long. 6800gs will support dx10? how much of a difference would it make from the 6600? percentage-wise

It doesn't support DX10, no card does at the moment. But, seriously, get the 6800GS. It'll be a lot better than the 6600 and give you a lot more performance. And, if you play BF2, you DEFINITELY want the 6800GS.

You will play BF2 at high settings :D with that video card and it beats the normal 6600 by a lot

You guys are all wrong. LEARN YOUR FACTS!!!

The 7300GS is an amazing video card, HORRIBLY under-rated. It has a lot of technoliges that the 6600GT dreams of. For instane, the 7300GS has up to 512MB of GDDR3 video RAM. Any computer that has 1 gigabyte of RAM in it the 7300GS autoenables the 512MB support. Also, the 7300GS has Shader Model 3.0 support. Along with OpenGL 2.0.

The 6600GT doesn't support Shader Model 3.0 or even OpenGL 2.0, it only has Shader Model 2.0 and OpenGL 1.5. The 6600GT is an older card, yes, it may have good specifications, but in terms of sheer video quality, thr 6600GT is an outdated card compared to the 7300GS.

The 7300GS is amazing for it's price. What throughs people off from buying the card is the 4 pixel pipelines. However! What most fall to realise is that the 7300GS boats a 7 series GPU, capable of delivering today's top end graphics. If any of you read the reviews on the card you would notice how it can be virtually any game on maximum settings; such as Battlefield 2, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, C&C Generals, and maybe even F.E.A.R, although that is a debatable game.

Point is, the 7300GS is under-rated. It's an azmaing card full of today's new technolgies, sure, it may not incorporate 20 pixel pipelines, so it won't ever achieve anything near the 7800 series graphics card, or the X1K family, aside fomr the X1300. Which by the way is probably it's target competetion. I do know for a fact however that if a 7300GS was to go up against my X700, the 7300GS would win hands down.

So please folks, don't just assume a card is bad just because of the low pixelpipeline count. :)

No card supports DirectX 10 and even if they do it won't be available until Windows Vista releases since DirectX 10 only works with Vista.

Oh yeah, the 7300 GS is meant to replace the 6200 just so you know.

The 7300GS is meant to replace anything lower then a 6800 series card. It's a good card. Definetly an awesome buy for it only costing $75. :D

And besides, if you want an even more powerful card, get an X1600PRo or a 7800GT, possibly even the 6800GS. Who knows...I thougth we were comparing the 6600GT to the 7300GS. I think I misread the title, I apologize, however, hopefully people will respect the 7300GS a little more. :)
