I'm buying a GPS receiver for my EEE PC (I want to convert it to a car PC eventually) and I'm stuck between two packages.

Garmin Mobile PC:

Microsoft Streets & Trips 2008:

I don't care that much about the software, as I'm sure both will be good. Plus, I can always find other software to use with it. What I'm more concerned about is the GPS receiver. I can't find too much info on the quality of them. Which one will have the better reception / better lock on times?

Right now I'm leaning toward the Garmin, as they're a big name in GPS. What do you guys think?

I have and use the Microsoft GPS on a laptop. It has worked very were for me. It was my first, before the smaller units became the rage. The progarm tells me it is receiving from seven satelites and it is quite responsive, ie. if I take an off ramp it will immediately tell me I'm "off route". I personally would find it easier to read than a Garmin.
