In New Jersey we have these things called "Roads" and people like to throw there trash on the side of them.

See throwing stuff on the side of the road is alot easier and takes up less tax money. :)

first off, "public sanitation engineers"... not 'garbagemen' bahahahah
but really, these guys do make pretty darn good money, almost no matter where... but the real strength of the job is in their unions most of the time... these guys get INCREDIBLE benefits and coverage through their unions almost always...
and if you wanna (pardon the pun, but) talk trash on these guys ever... wait till their union decides to go on strike in your neighborhood for about two weeks like they did in mine last year... people were willing to do almost anything to get em to stop striking, cuz not having your trash picked up gets to be FILTHY in the worst way...
my hats off to these fine gentleman, smelly tho they may be :) haha - RK

It's actually a rough job. On the road way early, in all kins of weather. Picking up/tossing heavy loads. Danger of being hurt, especially cut, by stuff. Garbage men have more recorded injuries than firemen, police, anyone.

acutally the most recorded deaths per person working is like alaskan crab fisherman. but yeah.
