I am building a gaming computer and I have made a list,
I have heard that AMD is the better way to go, so I used an AMD.
COuld you please tell me if this would be the best way to go and what case and power supply unit would be the best to go for. Any changes or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :)

You can obviously get a bigger hard drive cheaper that the point is with 10,000 rpm's he will have faster performance

Yah, it's faster. But it can be 20K RPM's, if he runs out of space (easy to do on a 40GB drive) the RPM's aren't going to matter. I'd suggest at least a 60GB drive unless you have very little stuff on your computer.

If you can afford one Lian-Li cases are some of the absolute best but the most expensive. High quality constructed pure aluminum cases and (not sure which model) but one or some have a completely removable slideable motherboard tray which is a VERY nice and handy feature.

Also that butterfly PSU is pretty good, but my suggestions are

Thermaltake 560w PurePower PSU
Ultra 500w modular Connect PSU ( even though a thread was just posted regarding these and seems to have mixed reviews ) I've actually built a system with both of the above PSU's and each performed wonderfully.

He makes a very good and valid point, if you know that you aren't going to fill up the space and would rather have windows load in 10 seconds then yes go with 36gb SATA Drive....otherwise I'd say get a bigger drive...but hey...Currently I have a 20gb 7200 RPM Drive as my master with an 80gb 7200 as a data storage slave drive, so you could always throw $100 for that 36gb and another $60 for an 80gb drive to have a similar setup to mine and you'd have plenty of space and speed when it comes to loading games or copying files on your SATA drive, remember though copying from the SATA to the 80gb would only be as fast as the 80gb so the 10,000RPM wouldn't matter, but as far as copying files on the SATA drive, installations, loading windows, games loading, it hauls ass :D

ok a few things. For the ram, go for the XLPRO
for HD, get a seagate, i read an article saying the barracuda performs as well as 10k hds. and they are the most silent hds also. but i love the rators, as u can see i have 1 :D

i just purchased pretty much the same set up; except a bigger hardrive (76.5 gig 10k rpm raptor) and 2gig of ram.

going to set up as soon as it arrives tommorow; ill get back to you :)
