Hey all you computer and tech enthusiasts of computerforums.org. I'm not a spammer but I am here to tell you guys about GameX, a Video Game and General Media Expo. It's being held in the Greater Philadelphia Arena (PA) and will take place October 23-25.

To all college-bound high school students:

There will be a career seminar at this event on October 25. There will be top industry pros from the biggest and best gaming companies. There will be a lot of interaction such as:

--9:30 am - 10:55 am--
Getting industry professionals to give constructive criticism on any game ideas you may have. Every presentation will be given about ten minutes so as to allow for fairness.

11 am - 12 pm - Level Up: Starting a Career in the Game Industry
A panel discussion will help new and current students look at the options available to them in game design & development education. We answer questions like, what do students need to do to succeed and rise above the ranks of every other graduate looking for work? What does game education really entail? What do you need to do if you can't attend a game specific program? Our panel of experienced educators will help weave students through the gamut of options available to them.

12 pm - 12:30 pm - Lunch Break

12:30 pm - 1:55 pm - Game Design Workshop
No code? No problem! Professional game designer Ian Schreiber leads participants in this hands-on workshop on game design, without the need for computers or programming. Using all non-digital methods, participants will experience a variety of different design challenges, and leave with an understanding of how to start designing games and how to take their designs to the next level.

2 pm - 2:55 pm - Choosing the Right School
An objective look at the educational options and opportunities available to individuals considering a career in the video game industry. Our panel of experienced educators will go over the things to look for in an educational program to make sure it fits both the needs of your situation as well as your aspirations. As the video game industry expands, so do the number of game specific programs. Choosing the Right School will give attendees the tools they need to pick a program that works for them and gets them working.

3 pm – 5 pm - Portfolio and Resume Review: Put Your Best Foot Forward
Wondering what Game Industry executives are looking for in a prospective employee? Why not ask them yourself? Join our panel of industry professionals as they review and give feedback on attendee's resumes and portfolios. Learn how to best showcase your talent to grab that all important first big break. Attendees should bring a copy of their resume and portfolio for review.

This seminar is not only for high school students, but college students as well. This seminar (and attending the GameX in general) will look great on any resume relevant to the Gaming Industry.

There will also be robotics competitions, game tournaments, SteamPunk art festival, movies, anime, live game music, television, cosplay and costume contests, as well as tons of free swag. So stop on by to http://www.gamexpo.us for more details.
