Freakin DVD Drive,

I have a HP DVD Writer 640v.... It is constantly giving me problems. Running XP Pro...No newer driver to update too. I don't have the original software that came with it... Has light scribe too. Came with Nero or something.. Am I having a Driver, software, compatibility issue? Any ideas?
