fraps sound

When i record a movie with fraps the sound is HORIBLE, all crackly and like underwater. In thereFAQ file it suggested compressing it. i did that and it didn't help at all.
any suggestions?

ok i' found that if i use my other sound card(sound blaster, as aposed to the onboard sound(asus mobo)) it works great
but when i use my sound card and my headphones on hl2dm the sounds are like calibrated with different pitches or something, it sounds funny.
any ideas?

I had the same problem when I used my onboard. I installed a Creative SB Live! 5.1 today and it got better, but still not very good. When I used onboar it was very very loud, also.
