I have a '77 myself. 351 Windsor. It could cruise at 100+... felt like riding on a cloud.

I bought it for $500. The left rear quarter panel was smashed, and the vinyl had rotted (someone had replaced it by brushing on tar, about1/2" think... I kid you not). Swapped a radio and a set of tires for a paint job, grey on grey (instead of replacing the vinyl). Called it the Grey Ghost. Engine blew up on a frigid morning halfway home from work... oil pump had went out.

Man, I loved that car.

Same engine as I had for mine. Considering the car lived in Canada it's whole life, it was in really good shape. We use a lot of sand/salt on our winter roads that tend to rot away cars. There was very minor bubbling behind each rear wheel, but that was about it. It also had aftermarket dual exhaust with some mean-sounding (yet not excessive) mufflers. I miss that car...
