I recently paid more then twice that price for the same thing. :( Keep me posted if you spot a good deal on the 64gb Traveler 150 seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134834&Tpk=usb flash drive :D

Kingston, OCZ, Sandisk, PNY, you name any name brand memory manufacturer and you can easily find a pen drive or flash drive out by them. In fact I'll amend the link posted earlier for not being catagorized enough there for a look at all flash drives newegg is listing. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ription=usb flash drive&name=USB Flash Drives

will do.

Yeah I kind wanted to look for a quick items hoping to see some price breaks at a local Circuit City and spotted the Traveler marked down since they are going out for good clearing everything.

That turned out to be a joke since their prices were still up there but usually only see the 4 or 8gb size. Kingston is a good brand however since I run some Kingston memory in the system here. Newegg even had a Hyper X Traveler model seen while a good look at buy.com is a good idea to start with.

Yeah Circuit City is a JOKE I went in to check out the deals....LMFAO 30% off of a 50% jacked up price isn't a sale....They had Madden 06 for 32 bucks with the 30% off.....WTF.....

That's simply a gimic to get people in to buy up their inventory. Did you see the crowd of people not normally seen when going to look? More then usual despite the so called mark offs. (ripp offs)

They were selling an HP black+while/monochrome LazerJet printer for $179.95 marked down to $140- while newegg along with HP now sees an $80 rebate bringing it down to $99! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828115080

For about $20 more then "their" usual price for the P1006 newegg has the same sized color lazer printer seen for $199.99. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828115139

Now look around and you may find that seeing a better price like the one seen for the Traveler 100 at buy.com. But they're not the only ones charging high on things like flash drives or printers. I also found an office supply store like Staples to be stiff as well.

Recently I needed a usb hub and walk out of Walmart with a reliable 4 port job for $20. Go to Staples and pay twice that for a 7 port deal? har! It didn't even work with their brand name on it.

I won't miss seeing one gone while sometimes having to put up with the other at times. Meanwhile I'll be browsing for the best price on a 64gb flash drive that can top the one seen at newegg as well as a new color printer.

do you notice that the companies that do this are all going out of business or restructuring...? CompUSA, Circuit City, etc., I am glad they're gone if it will make room for a Fry's...

I remember on the final day of the CompUSA sale here, where everything was supposed to be 80-90% off, they had a laptop that was still more expensive than a comparable laptop next door at Best Buy, even with the supposed 80-90% off...

Like I was saying before it's a sales gimic to dry in all the last minute sales they can scoff up. There's no real bargains but a trick to clear out remaining inventories. The smart shopper is someone like the OP who caught a "real deal" finding the $25 discount price for the $70 retail item! :p
