As stated in the Title, I have never built a computer and it seems I am delving into this with a very rough idea of what I am doing. I have done some reading on sites and did some shopping around on Tigerdirect.com about a week ago and came up with this list. Would be lovely if someone or a group of someones could go over the list, give pointers, tips, and possibly better upgrades that are around the same pricing as the listed item or can find something better for cheap :D Thank You!

Since LGA 775 is reaching the end of it's life, it would not be an easy upgrade path. I think you're better off going with a Phenom II platform with a 790GX board.

Here I would go with the Phenom II 940. It's a fair bit faster than the Q6600 at the same price.

This depends on a few factors such as your monitor's native resolution and your budget.
