First Build

mammikoura-I won't be overclocking, so I'm going to stick with the AMD configuration. thanks though!

also why so adamant about maxtor...i had a 6gb on my first computer in '98...still runs perfectly

I second that, I Would highly recommend staying away from maxtor..

I also have a scsi Maxtor Drive that has been running for 10 years, BUT I have seem more than a fair share of them fail, More than any other brand i have come across.

Seagate, and Western Digital are my favorite drives, the 7200.10 /7200.11 series are great :)

Me or LambOfGod?

I didn't recommend a board... I did like the board he selected for his possible LGA 775 build though...

I've had 2 maxtors. Both have failed. Also during the past 6 months or so 3 of my friends have said that their hdd failed.. Yeah.. all were maxtor drives. :D

They just aren't good anymore, and like I said seagate bought them so I'm guessing there won't be any new maxtor drives. (thank god)

I thought Maxtor were just rebranded Seagates now? If not, then yes, another brand would be safer.
from the one that Worshipme recommended to

with

for graphics
with this config, i ended up getting more USB/PCI slots for less money. plus with the other video card, ill be able to drive dual monitors when i work up the money.
The 780G can do dual monitors, plus the HD 3200 integrated chip is probably as if not more powerful than that card.
