When there is no signal to the monitor it means there is a hardware problem somewhere. It doesn't mean that it is the video card it could be anything.
You could try taking everything off and starting again or try just the video card and nothing else connected. It's really just a process of elimination to find the culprit thats stopping the machine from posting.
Make sure the motherboard is not touching the case underneath as that can result in a blank screen. Other than that you can only check everything is seated correctly and all connections are good and as previously mentioned if you can try a different video card that could help.
