Firewire noob question

Hi

I am totally unfamiliar with firwire etc so this may come across as an extremely stupid question.

Well, I have a firewire port and I wish to purchase a 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cord because I need it for my video camera. I was just wondering how do I know if my port takes 6 pin?

And also I may have it wrong but I assumed 4 pin to 6 pin meant that the end that goes into the pc is the 6 pin end????

Did you even look at the specs of the ports?

ok awesome so that picture shows that the little end is the one i put into the camera and the other is the one i put into my port (6 pin), is this correct?

And also how do I know if my port takes six pin?

Look at it, you should be able to see if it fits.

Did you try counting the pins?
