Go There. Scroll down a bit and follow the instructions...

In XP...

Go There. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT USE THE WIZARD. DO AS THE SITE SAYS AND CLICK "I understand the risk...." and "Just Enable File Sharing" Neverrr use the wizard...

Then, make sure that the computers are in the same workgroup. This is done in XP by right clicking on My Compter and going to Properties and going to the Computer Name Tab. Click on CHANGE near the bottom and chage the workgroup name..
In 98, In control pannel go to File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks and look around for WORKGROUP....Its been so long since ive been on 98 so im not sure if its there..if you cant find it there, try looking through the tabs in My computer by right clicking on it and going to properties....

After doing all this, it should be easy...To access the shares in XP, go to MY NETWORK PLACES which can be accessed by typing it in to the Address bar in a window...In 98 i cant remember how....but i know that you can type //[the name you used for your workgroup] EX: "//mynetwork"

Good Luck.

well thankx for your help. later on today i put windows Xp light on it and i can share filed now!
