Wait, it it can only handle 54Mbps, then why do i have a card that goes up to 108Mbps, and my router supports that, if i miss understanding something please do tell.

my router is RangeMax Wireless Router WPN824, its a netgear
and my card im talking about well i just have the model # and that is WGT311
I assumed you were talking about the wireless. 802.11g supports up to 54 Mbps wireless. Wired is different, and it probably supports Megabit ethernet, or about 100 Mbps. 108 Mbps is possible too.
