Few bad days..

That's a nice lil' saying, added to sig :)

I thought that, but doesnt stop it blowing up :)
Yeah but with fault tolerance if one drive goes the data is on other drives either from RAID1 with a mirrored copy or from other RAID (except 0) with parity for rebuilding the missing data.

What have you got thats taking up 500GB??

I'd recommend a tape drive for backing up. RAID is good for redundancy in mission critical situations but can't protect if you hit delete or anything like that

We had about 100GB of torrent downloads, we had 150GB worth of copied/saved games, 50GB of music, ripped CD's, full albums, mp3 downloads, we had hecck of alot of video edits, which took alot of space, alot of unsaved CoolEdit beats which take alot of room, and we had all our files etc..

Didn't take up the full 500GB, but it was alot of room!
