external SSD as long-term archive store?

Hi,

I am looking for a solution to store data long-term on an external device.
I possibly will not need to add or retrieve data from this device more than 10 times a year.
Size should be between 1 and 2 TB.

What about using an external SSD?

As I understood the only requirement of this solution would be that I will need to connect the SSD every 2 years to electricity. Is this correct?

A Blu Ray M-Disk is probably your best option for long term storage....

I do not think the SSD storage been around long enough to say how well they can store data before you get any data rot.

Depends on whether it's SLC, MLC, TLC, or QLC. TLC and QLC are more susceptible to bit rot as they are higher bits per cell.
