External Harddrive

I have a Western Digital 160gb external harddrive and it was working fine until yesterday when i came back home turn the power onto everything and it just stopped working. I tried turning it off and plugging it back in but all that happen was the on light flicked on then straight back off again.

What could be wrong with the hard drive, I had alot of stuff on it and would like to at least get the information back if nothing else.

It looks dead to me. It appears to be the enclosure, so your hard drive within it is fine. Pop it open and plug the hard drive into a sata port on your desktop, and plug the sata power into it. When you boot up, it will show up in your OS and you can retrieve your data.
