external burner problems

hi... i'm trying to use my external burner with easy cd creator 5, but it is only letting me pick my default burner that came with my pc... how can i go about burning to it from easy cd creator 5??

Is the external burner showing up under my computer?

If so, then make sure your software/drivers are installed for that burner.

If not, check the cables to make sure they are plugged in.

it is showing up on my computer, the cables are plugged in right and all teh software and the drivers are installed? and it still only letting me pick the default burner.....

look in the mannual about adding more CD-RW drives there should be some kind of option

Sometimes you need to update you're software. I assum that the program you're using came with you're old burner?

Also there are other burning programs out there for free. I've used them with my external burner, so I know they'd work. Deep burner and such...

my pc came with version 4... i installed version 5... a guy i used to work with got it to work but something happened to my computer a while back and it's not letting me pick it........
