ethernet port advent 7099 laptop

Hi guys,

right basically my girlfriends laptop has always been fine....the internet was working on her laptop last night. She switched it off (the right way) and when we went to use it today it won't even recognise there is a cable inserted in the ethernet port.

I have tested a few different cables, and the internet itself works fine on my laptop.

The device is enable and there are no conflicts in the device manager. The device is enabled as well.

any ideas of how to fix this?????

one thing i would try, is un-install the current drivers...and get the latest drivers from the manufactures website. Maybe that will fix the problem.

its ok i've fixed it now.....not particulary sure how. Problem seemed to solve itself after about 6 restarts, 2 driver re-installs, 3 different cables and 2 different internet connections.
