Enter HDD User Password

Hi,

I'm having a little problem with my hard drive. I was attempting an ATA Secure Erase through the terminal on Linux Mint 11. I managed to enable security password and issue the ATA Secure Erase command when my laptop battery died. When I switched my laptop on again it asked me for to "Enter HDD User Password". The password I set does not work. I've tried going into BIOS but I can't change it from there. I've also tried putting the hard drive into my external hard drive case but my other laptop won't recognize it.

Is there anything I can do to make this hard drive useable again?

If there is no data to keep, may try slave the HDD, low level format the drive and see if the drive can be used again as a plain drive.

I've tried to slave the HDD, I tried a low level format but I kept getting "Format Error Occurred".
