enabling java & javaScript on FF

Hey, I was just wondering, if there is any draw backs(or if anything bad can be put on your pc from it) if you enable java and javascript on FireFox.

there is always a risk but as long as you trust the site then I wouldn't worry. Although check this extension out:

I love it, stops script from running and if a website doesn't work you can choose to allow the script that is needed. very simple and appears as a yellow bar at the bottom of the screen. You then choose allow and pick the script that looks like the website address.
