Email Taking FOREVER

I emailed someone with attachments that add up to about 700mb and I clicked send its still not done. How long should it take? I got a 5mb/s connection

when its attached it should send instantly, regardless of size, because once its attached thats all the work done, all it has to do is send

Not entirely true. That depends on how the email was sent or even what kind of mail client and server are being used (Http, pop3, etc)

Gmail always takes forever. Plus i think there's a 10MB limit on Gmail. Isn't there?

I think he is really asking how long it will take to attach.

But yeah once the attach (upload of file attachment to Gmail server is completed) the email will send instantly but it might take some time to reach its destination.

Also the last poster is correct. Gmail has a 10mb attachment size limit which the original poster probably figured out by now,

700MB attachment over email. That's crazy!

Just get a P2P software if you want to send files that size.
