Diesels run a little cooler than gas engines. Unless you're driving them and there's a load oon the engine, they run about 180*f. Operating temperature of a gas engine is 210*f.No reason for a car to overheat unless you have no coolant/cooling fan isnt running.
Just think about 18 wheelers, these guys drive 60mph for 12 hours straight.
