ECS KN1 Extreme?

Just got this mobo for a Xmas gift and it is giving my problems i was wondering if anyone on here owns 1 so we can talk bout' it mine has a 3500+Athlon

well i tryed to install XP and i sets up and restarts then starts installing devices and when it says 34 min left i freezes like the little tiny green bar that usuallt is oscalting stops i let it sit 4 bout 4hr nothing... restarted ... nothing the disc is genuine and all if that i just am out of ideas

Check the disc for scratches or anything. Try it again. When I reformatted my dad's old Pentium III machine, I had to retry it once or twice.

Could be a few things. Have you installed the heatsink and fan on the processor properly, could be overheating. Could also be the HDD, so run some diagnostics on that. And test the RAM aswell with memtest. Oh and if ya have a spare CD drive, then try that aswell.
