eBay Laptops

I'm thinking about buying a laptop from that well known auction site and have a few questions.

Has anyone here done it?
What should i look out for (positive/negative)?
Is it a good idea, is there anywhere (UK) to get laptops cheaper?
Is it a better idea to buy now or after the Christmas holidays?
Buy It now or Auction?

And any other information, would also be good.

I'm after something around £500 max, with specs around about the following
• Windows
• 2gb RAM
• >80gb HDD
• Dual Core of some description at at least 1.8ghz
• GPU that can play games, probs not Crysis 2 on high spec but certainly things like GW G-mod and the orange box etc
• Something that'll last

For £500 I dont recommend ebay. You should be able to get a new one from some reliable store. Check this thread out, someone had a similar question.
