easy windows question..

I have just finished doing a "Serian Clean" on one of my comps and the little arrow that hides my inactive icons on the task manager is not there.

I need it because it is causing all of my open programs to combine pre-maturely.

is there a setting that might have not been turned on?
is there some way I can 'wake it up'?

the 'tast bar' fills up too soon becuase it is 'short' because the 'task manager' is so long cuz the arrow is not there.

open like 8 internet programs and watch as all of the programs fond into one.
does that make and sense?
