dvd writing probs

not sure if anyone can help but my dvd r/w shows all new dvd's as having no space on them, consequently irt wont burn anything to them anyone got any idea what i can do...is the dvd knackered

U using the right disks for the drive? some older drives can only recognise either -R or +R most new ones arent affected by this.

thanks for the reply,
it is telling me that r/w and -r disks are full even tho they are new disks. until recently i have recoreded on either without any proibs so i dont think thats it

You probably just got a bad batch of DVDs. Is this just with one pack of them, or any brands of DVDs you try?

Have u installed any programs since this has started to happen that may have caused it? Like Nero or Roxio burner, or updated the IDE drivers.

Only look at the rest of my post if you've done what was posted above:

if all else fails, try a different dvd burner. if what they posted above doesn't fix the problem, i suspect a failing DVD burner.
