DVD RW Problems

Uhh.i am having some wierd DVD Problems....i got a Lightscribe DVD Supermulti drive (DVD+/-RW , DL, RAM)..and until recently everything has been working fine until all of a sudden CD-R Burning just messed up..i mean i can stil burn to DVDs Using software (u cant burn to DVDs from windows) but my Drive doesnt even DETECT CD-R's ..With or WITOUT software..it doesnt detect it PERIOD....i think i tried everything..i mean i tried doing a system restore to a week past (everything was fine back then)..i tried burning a CD using Software (Sonic)..no luck..even tried burning from linux ..still not detected...
Note the DVD burning still works i dunno why
need help...

PS:Incase u need to know My Computer is HP M7350N

Go to device manager, and uninstall the drive and then restart the computer, and they will reinstall..If that doesnt work, have you updated the drivers?

yea i went to the HP website and tried downloading the drivers and updating them..it said no update was needed...

nope uninstalling didnt work either..lol
