With all the different ways to copy DVD now what way should one go.
has anyone bought a DVD recoder or a
DVD burner for the computer or
used the basic CD-RW drive and used a DVD copy software

I am trying to see if there is different effects.
Of course I want the best one.
I don't want to lose any resolutioin or anything like that.

anyone have site or someone they can recommend let me know.

Thanks

I bought a Pioneer 105 DVD Writer and that with Smart Ripper, DVD2One and Nero will make perfect copises of your own DVD. Its probably a better bet than a Recorder which records from TV which you could do with a TV card. The cost of the Pioneer writer is about £200 but Recorders are about £500.
Hope this helps.

I've also got the Pioneer 105, and it's definitely an awesome burner :)
Personally I prefer DVD-R over +R/RW, because DVD-R is more compatible, and the media is cheaper.

I've heard good reviews about the Sony DRU-500A (it supports dvd-r/rw & dvd+r/rw)

BTW, I backup my DVD's using the method davedobson does, but the only difference is that I use RecordNow Max instead of Nero.

I am waiting for the Sony Blue Laser. Supposed to be bad-ass. Upto 23GB storage on one disc... or so the rumor goes.
