DVD Drive recognition trouble

I've been having trouble with my DVD burner, its an Aopen DVD-RW 16x, duel layer burner, I just recently bought and installed into my PC, I set it to slave and my other CD-RW is set to master, the problem is when I insert a blank DVD "Ridata DVD+R 16x, 120 min / 4.7 GB" my drive changes from saying DVD-RW Drive (F:) to saying CD Drive (F:), and when I attempt to open the blank DVD it tells me "F:\ is not accessible, incorrect function.

Is there anything I have done wrong, or left out or just didn't know of?
I'd really appreciate any help or advice you guys can give me

Thanks, Cesare (steel2)

maybe double check your drivers and play around with the settings, try putting the dvd-rw on master
