dvd burner question

i don't know if this is normal or not but i just got a new dvd burner and everything burns perfectly except after i eject the dvd, the dvd drive icon will still think that htere is a dvd disk in there, becuase it still has the dvd-r icon there. is this a problem

As long as its burning i wouldnt worry. Only thing i can think of that could be causing this is a damaged cable or pin. I know this happens on ya floppy drive when a certain pin is damaged (its to do with the pin that knows when a disk has been ejected), so im guessing it could be the same with a DVD/CD drive. Try another cable if ya have one spare.
