Dual Channeling?

Oh, so Dell 4600 has dual channel? Meaning it would actually be beneficial to put a 512 next to a 1 GB? or would it be more beneficial to put the 1 Gigs next to each other and the 512's in the opposite bank?

You'll want the 1GB modules in slots 1 and 2, and the 512Mb modules in slots 3 and 4.

It says that the Channel # is Dual.

In SPD it says in the Max Bandwidth Field, PC3200 (200 MHz) for both sticks. Does that mean they are PC3200?

Thanks!

Yes it does. Well...Sorta. It means they are capable of those speeds. I don't know if they are actually running at those speeds.

Slot 1 and 3: 1 GB
Slot 2 and 4: 512 MB
That is incorrect.

1 GB RAM -Slot 1
1 GB RAM -Slot 2

512 MB -Slot 3
512 MB -Slot 4

That should dual channel for your system.
