My MOBO has 4 memory (s)lots that supports dual channel,
(s)1&(s)3 and (s)2&(s)4 up to 4 GIGS.

Q: If I have 1G DDR400 (2x512) with TCCD 2.2.2.5 timings in slot 1&3 and put 1G DDR400 (2x512)with timings of 2.5.3.3.7 in slots 2&4, would this hinder the performance of the faster ram?

Yeah it would three reasons

1: 2 sticks of ram you can run 1T, 4 sticks have to be 2t and 2t is slower

2: You wont be able to overclock your shatty ram

3: Yeah the timings will make a difference a bit.

Do you want more than 1 gig because of battlefield 2?

Well, it's not for my PC's. It's for a friend of mine. He has some value ram and just bought (2x512) of the OCZ rev. 2's from newegg. I told him to just take out the value and use just the OCZ's but he's stubborn and wants 2 gig.

What if he bought another gig of the OCZ rev 2's?
