downgrading

i have recently had some trouble with my computer and looks like the only way right now is for me to downgrade from windows xp pro to windows 2000 pro.

but i want to make sure none of my files are lost if i can

how would i go about installing windows 2000 and hopefully fixing my problem without deleting any of my files

I don't think you can downgrade like that. I think your only option is to do a clean install of Windows 2000.

You could just do a back up of all your files to discs (depending on how many u have) then do a fresh install.

try a repair with the xp cd. you won't lose any files that way. also, what kind of problems are you having?
