Hey guys i have a slight problem, if any of you can enlighten me a bit, for some reason Dos wont recognise any drives except for A: when i boot it with a boot flopy disk. what might be the problem, this is related to my previous post:

Computer wont recognise XP 64bit CD or Vista CD

http://www.computerforums.org/showthread.php?t=56158

anyone got a clue?

Have you installed the CD drivers? What are you booting your system with?

everything works fine when i am in windows, i can play music read cd/dvds and everything, its just when i pput in the boot floppy to try boot my xp64 cd dos doesnt recognise anything but the drive i put the floppy in?

Did you do what i said in your other post about the same thing? Why start a new thread?

Yes i did, but dos wont recognise anything, i put boot disk in, dos starts up

A:\>

I type

A:\>E:\Setup.exe

or

A:\E:\

(E: is the drive where my cd id) but it wont recognise it as a valid drive, ive tried all the letters, but it still wont recognise any drives?

that was a typo, ive been typing e: and e:\ the whole time it doesnt work, i might just have to replace my harddrive or something? might change over to my old mobo and and see how that works then change back!

this is wierd. i doubt its a hdd problem. im not too sure what it could be

What happens if you goto e and type dir?

also once your at the e prompt just type setup on its own and see what happens.

It could also be your bootdisk, so goto www.bootdisk.com/ for a different disk.
